"iMagnolia" sign the first edition of the artistic residency enhancing cultural and sustainable tourism in the Ligurian hinterland with an opening event on on 19 July 2025

An oasis of creativity and sustainability is ready to come to life amidst the woods, olive groves and vineyards of the Lerrone Valley: from 11 to 19 July, the first edition of the residential project devised by “iMagnolia”, the collective of young artists from different Italian regions, kicks off in Garlenda. The project features an exhibition realised thanks to the tutorship of the Aldo Galli Academy of Como, which combines the training of the team's youngsters, and the Magnolia private residence, an example of the harmonious reconversion of an ancient residence.

The project stems from our passion for art combined with the desire to enhance the territory,‘ say iMagnolia, ’transforming this prestigious residence into a laboratory for artistic and environmental experimentation, with the intent of animating new forms of sustainable tourism and creating a moment of direct confrontation between art and life.

An opportunity to discover and rediscover a lesser-known Liguria thanks to the fruitful encounter of young talents, their creative expression and fresh experimentation.

The opening event on 19 July at 6.30 p.m. in the Frantoio di Marmoreo, thanks to the hospitality of the Municipality of Casanova Lerrone, will feature special guests such as writer Jake Matthews and the musical duo Currenti Calamo, who will entertain the public with poetry readings and musical performances, creating a dialogue between art, nature and culture. On this occasion, a local jury will select three of the works on display, created by the young artists during the residential week with the support of the coordinator of the Como Academy's Painting course, Ivan Quaroni.
