Grand Festival AFAM 2025

On 5 December 2025, in Rome, in the prestigious setting of MAXXI, the National Museum of 21st Century Arts,
the event concluding the AFAM1 Grand Tour contest will be held. This project aims to promote the artistic talent
of students at Italian Academies of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance
(AFAM).

The Grand Festival AFAM represents a moment of plenary sharing on the progress of the project, on
research activities and the results achieved. The finalists of the GTA Contest 2025, the
international competition that saw the participation of more than 200 young artists and designers enrolled in
Grand Tour AFAM partner academies and institutes, will have the opportunity, in the morning, to experience
a masterclass led by Emanuele Cappelli, Artistic Director of the contest, and Gabriele Mainetti, President of the GTA
Contest, director, screenwriter, composer and film producer.

In the afternoon, the MAXXI auditorium will open its doors to a programme of institutional speeches, talks and
artistic performances. The evening will culminate with the award ceremony for the six winning projects of the GTA Contest
2025 Normale è Straordinario and the inauguration, at the MAXXI Corner, of the exhibition of the 48 finalist works.

The works in the exhibition Normale è Straordinario (Normal is Extraordinary) range from audiovisual to performing arts,
fashion, design and visual arts, representing an interesting showcase of artistic expression by young
and talented generations. Young people were able to reflect on the uniqueness of each individual, expressing
the extraordinary nature of everyday normality through their works. Every moment, every experience and
every choice thus become the essence of a personal and universal artistic narrative.

• 5:00 p.m. Institutional greetings by Fabio Mongelli, Scientific Coordinator of GTA, and speeches by the
Scientific Directors of the partner institutions.
• 17:30 Talk by Gabriele Mainetti, Director, Screenwriter, Composer and Film Producer
with Journalist and Writer Laura Delli Colli.
• 18:00 Award ceremony for the 6 winning projects of the GTA Contest 2025 Normal is Extraordinary.
