The project involves fourteen AFAM institutions, one university and the CNR, and is supported by numerous international partners. The initiative aims to strengthen the internationalisation of AFAM institutions through research, training and artistic production, with the aim of promoting Italy’s cultural heritage and improving access to it.
In this context, Accademia di Como stands out for its contribution to the field of cultural heritage restoration through the development of an innovative digital platform based on three-dimensional models for the management and documentation of restoration work.
The event “S.I.D.I.R., AFAM Grand Tour for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage” forms part of WP6 of the project and represents an opportunity to present and test the application of the results developed within WP3. The initiative is dedicated to the presentation and operational testing of the S.I.D.I.R. system (Interactive System for the Documentation of Restoration Interventions), developed during the course of the research activities.
The system stems from the integration of the project’s planned activities and a broader scientific collaboration between Accademia di Como and the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, within the framework of the joint PhD programme in Digital Heritage Science, and with CNR IMATI in Genoa for its contribution to the development of the ontology underpinning the software.
