An exhibition to explore the Creative Genius of Como designer Beppe Spadacini

In the picturesque setting of Lake Como Creativity Week UNESCO, the Aldo Galli Academy, in collaboration with Yamamay and Archivio Spadacini, presented an exclusive project.

From March 8 to 17, 2024, at Spazio Natta in Como, visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant and tropical world of Spadacini.

Under the guidance of lecturers Giulia Salamon and Monica Mazzone, students from the Fashion & Textile Design and Painting and Visual Languages courses were actively involved in the exhibition design project and through the “learning by doing” method, had the opportunity not only to learn and be inspired by the master, but also to apply their knowledge in a real and challenging context such as the development and realization of an exhibition.

The students' innovative approach paid homage to Spadacini's genius in blending tradition and modernity, analog and digital. Guests at the exhibition, in fact, were able to enjoy two different experiences: a digital one, through an exciting 3D video that brought Spadacini's creations into a futuristic dimension, and a physical one, with an immersive exhibition path that allowed them to explore the artist's universe in a tangible way through a selection of photographs, drawings, paintings and objects.

The students' involvement not only enriched their educational experience by providing an opportunity to put into practice the skills acquired in the classroom, but also helped create a vital bridge between the glorious past of textile design and the innovative challenges of the digital future.
